Buffalo, NY - Univera Healthcare received an Award of Distinction from the Video Communicator Awards for a six minute DVD overview of its Fun 2B Fit program. Fun 2B Fit is a school-based initiative focusing on second, third and fourth graders and their families -- encouraging them to adopt a healthier lifestyle by trying new foods, increasing physical activity, making healthier food choices at the supermarket and preparing meals as a family.

The award was presented in the international competition's Nonprofit Category and recognized the Fun 2B Fit DVD for exceeding industry standards in production or communication skills.

Produced by Buffalo-based TVRE Productions, Inc., Univera Healthcare uses the DVD in presentations about the program to external audiences.

Nearly 8,000 Western New York students at 35 schools have participated in Univera Healthcare's Fun 2B Fit program, which is being offered to select schools in the WNY area. Fun 2B Fit program partners include Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., Body Shaping By Sandy, the Healthy Community Alliance, and Lifetime Health Medical Group.
